This award is open to anyone giving service within our County including Young Leaders, Guiders, Commissioners, Unit Helpers, nonuniformed appointment holders, Trefoil Guild members, and supporters without an appointment.
Any member of Girlguiding can present a Thanks Badge as long as they’ve discussed it with a Leader or Commissioner.


Uniquely, this is an award for adult and young members or friends of Girlguiding who have done something special.
This is a specially commissioned certificate from HQ and any member can suggest a recipient for recognition. The certificate will be signed by the chief guide, chief commissioner and county commissioner to show that throughout the organisation the person’s efforts are truly appreciated.

This Girlguiding Anglia award is for exceptional quality of service given, not just length and is for service within the region, not necessarily to the region.
The Anglia Brooch and certificate can be awarded to a person whom the Girlguiding Anglia Awards Committee considers merits this award. To nominate someone for the Girlguiding Anglia Brooch and certificate they need to be either, a member of Girlguiding Anglia, a member of The Trefoil Guild in Anglia region or a non-member who by virtue of an appointment fulfils the criteria.

This is Girlguiding’s second-highest honour and as such there are relatively few awards given each year.

This is an award for an active member of Girlguiding who has made an exceptional contribution to guiding.
This award may be given to an outstanding adult member of Girlguiding who has shown that they have had a substantial impact through a variety of roles within the organisation.
This is Girlguiding’s highest honour and, as such, there are few awards given each year.

The Long service award badges and brooches have different designs, finishes and metals signifying the number of years. All are accompanied by a certificate:
– 5-year certificate is signed by the County Commissioner
– 10 and 20-year certificates are signed by the Country or Region Chief Commissioner
– 30, 40, 50 and 60-year certificates are signed by the Chief Guide
Brooches and badges may be worn on the badge tab or on non-guiding clothing.

The Anglia Youth Award and certificate can be awarded to a young person who is a member of Girlguiding Anglia and under the age of 18.

To nominate someone for the Girlguiding Anglia Buddy Award they need to be aged 18 and under and a member of Girlguiding Anglia. And have worked as a Buddy to support a member or members with additional needs for at least 25 hours. This must usually be on at least three separate occasions.

Their support enables our members with additional needs to experience the amazing opportunities offered within Guiding and be included in unit activities.
To nominate a unit for the Girlguiding Anglia Buddy Award they need to be within Girlguiding Anglia and be 18 and under. Additionally the unit must have supported a member or members with additional needs for at least 25 hours. This must be on at least three separate occasions.
