Bex Mezzo

County Grants Support Adviser

A little background information…

Hi I’m Bex Mezzo and I have been a leader, adviser, commissioner (Brownie – Guide – Young Leader and Ranger – no Rainbows !).  My other time available is spent with Sleaford Dementia Support a charity I helped to start and in nearly 7 years have helped more than 100 people locally with dementia.  Along with this I am a governor of LPFT – Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and have been for 3 years – there to help make things better for people with not so good mental health, autism, learning disabilities and dementia.  My husband David and I will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary next year.

Why did you take on this role? and what lies ahead?

This role gives me the opportunity for the girls to have a new leader and me to use my skills in a different way to help you at unit, district, division and county level.  I have already helped the new Woodhall Spa Guides.  Ask me and I will try to help.

Tell us your favourite Guiding memory…

Brownie – lighting a candle; Guide – camping; Rangers – singing in Westminster Abbey.  Leader – 2014 Buckingham Palace Garden Party, 2005 St James Palace Reception meeting our new president Sophie; Big Gig every time we took a new guide and seeing their faces when they saw just how big Girlguiding is and that’s just 13,000 guides and leaders.
