Brownies

7 – 10 years

“I promise that I will do my best, to be true to myself and develop my beliefs. To serve the King and my community, to help other people and to keep the Brownie Guide Law”

Through regular meetings, special events, day trips, sleepovers and holidays, Brownies learn new skills, get creative, make brilliant friends, explore other cultures, help their community and get adventurous outside.

Brownies can make their own decisions about what badges and activities to do. At meetings, they work together in small groups on a varied programme of skills builders and unit meeting activities to complete badges. For a full breakdown of all 6 themes of topics our activities are based on, visit the Girlguiding website here.

They can also choose to work towards interest badges in their own time, choosing themes and skills they’re interested in, exploring everything from local history to aviation!

Brownies can earn awards and lots of badges and can feel proud of their achievements with awards for each theme. They can choose to work towards the Brownie Gold award – the highest award a Brownie can get!

Brownies is about trying new things that teach girls about themselves, their community, and the world.
