Adult Development (Training)

If you are a new and inexperienced leader or someone about to collect their 30 year Long Service Award there are new ideas, changes in programme and new skills to develop that are available to you through the training programme within the County.

Every year there is a County Skills Day (held in October) and a County Training Day (held in March). Both of these days are filled with a variety of sessions to appeal to most leaders in the County.

As well as these there is a variety of evening training sessions available usually at Parva House.

If you have any ideas for new trainings contact your Division Training Rep or the County Training Coordinator.

Any new training will be advertised here as well as flyers via your Division team.

County Training Day

The County holds its Training Day in March each year. Details of each event are distributed early in January each year.

Child Protection Awareness Programme

Did you know that for just £10 (which can be covered by unit funds) you can follow a distance learning programme called ‘Keeping Children Safe’. You would gain a certificate from NSPCC on completion.

Why not become a Trainer yourself?

If you think you could share skills and knowledge about Guiding with others, contact the County Training Coordinator to find out how you could become a Trainer.

Training Bursary

Are you eligible to receive a training bursary when attending a training at a Guiding Training and Activity Centre? Check out this flyer and fill out this form if you fulfil the criteria.
